Engine before being removed for rebuilding.
Rebuilt engine being tested on the dynamometer (45 HP).
This photo shows the cab disassembled and ready to be sandblasted.
The body shop did an outstanding job.  There is no more rust,  all wood has been replaced, the panels are all arrow-straight, and the PPG Deltron 2k paint is flawless.
The cab is painted green with a gray stripe and a pale yellow accent  The color is slightly off on these photos due to poor lighting.
The fenders are painted gray to match the stripe on the cab. One fender is original to the truck, and the other was a used original from a junkyard.  Both are finished to a degree of quality as high as the finest of automobiles.

The rear axle was completely overhauled, restoring it to like-new condition. Due to severe wear, the only original parts that were reused were the axle shafts and most of the housing.  New axle tube ends were fabricated and welded on the housing, replacing the  worn outer wheel bearing races which are otherwise not replaceable. The deep-reduction ring and pinion were replaced with a more highway-friendly gear-set. Also replaced were the complete differential, and all bearings and seals.

The brake drums were turned true, brake shoes were re-lined and arced to match the inside diameter of the drums. Brake springs and other hardware are new.
The original 4-speed transmission was completely worn-out. Knowing we could never find a replacement in perfect condition, we were fortunate to find a source for new-old-stock parts. The only parts able to be saved were the outer case and the shift lever; all other parts are 70 year old, new-in-the-box  original Ford replacement parts. Also new is the PTO which will drive the hydraulic tilt bed
The front suspension was overhauled by a heavy truck suspension specialty shop.  The axle was straightened, and every pin and bushing was replaced.

The frame is nearly ready to have the tilt bed hoist installed, after that we will test fit the body then send the chassis out to be sandblasted again, and painted.
